OPEN HORIZONS RV
Open Horizons RV is a disabled veteran-owned company built on integrity, experience, and a commitment to doing things the right way. With over 20 years of hands-on RV experience, we have worked in large dealerships, small operations, transport services, and mobile repair environments across Florida. We are RVTI Level 4 Master Certified, which represents the highest level of training and expertise in the industry. Our goal is simple — to provide honest, thorough, and reliable inspections and services that protect our customers and their investment. We believe every customer deserves transparency, not confusion, and real answers instead of guesswork. At Open Horizons RV, we believe customers deserve clear, honest information when it comes to RV inspections. In today’s market, you may see inspections advertised in “levels” or tiers, which can create confusion about what is actually being inspected. The truth is, a proper RV inspection should be comprehensive from the start!
Every inspection we perform is a full 200+ point inspection that covers all major systems, components, and safety items. We do not separate our inspections into basic or premium levels, because your RV should never be partially evaluated. Our approach ensures that nothing important is overlooked, whether you are buying, selling, or maintaining your unit.
There is a difference between a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI), but both should be thorough and detailed. A PDI focuses on verifying that a unit is ready for delivery from a dealership, while a PPI is designed to protect a buyer before making a purchase decision. In both cases, the goal is the same — to give you a complete and accurate understanding of the RV’s condition.
If additional specialized testing is requested, such as fluid analysis or advanced diagnostics, we can provide those services as add-ons. These are not replacements for a proper inspection, but optional tools to go even deeper when needed. Our goal is simple: provide a complete, transparent inspection process so you can make informed decisions with confidence and avoid costly surprises down the road.
Inspections:
Inspection pricing varies depending on the type, size, and condition of the RV. Motorized units, towables, toy haulers, and overall complexity all impact the time required to perform a proper 200+ point inspection. To provide fair and accurate pricing, please contact us directly with your RV details for a custom quote.
Service Call (Required):
$75 flat rate. This includes travel to your location and full diagnostic evaluation with no time limit. This fee is payable before service begins and is non-refundable, as it reserves dedicated time for your appointment.
General Labor:
$125/hour with a 1-hour minimum, billed in half-hour increments thereafter. This applies to repairs and services not listed as flat-rate work, including electrical troubleshooting, plumbing repairs, and general repairs.
Roof Membrane Repair / Replacement (TPO / EPDM):
Typical range: $1,500 – $8,000+ depending on size, material, and condition.
Final pricing requires inspection and measurement.
A/C Cleaning & Service:
$250 per unit with $50 each additional unit added on.
A/C Replacement (Unit Swap):
$350 per unit (Not including parts! This is labor only)
We price in the middle of the market to provide quality work at fair rates.
Aqua-Hot Annual Service:
$450 depending on system type and condition
Oasis Annual Service:
$400 depending on system configuration
Many RV buyers enter the purchasing process believing that the dealership has fully inspected and prepared their unit before delivery. In reality, most dealership processes are designed primarily to move inventory efficiently rather than perform deeply detailed, owner-level inspections on every system of the RV.
While dealerships do perform a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), it is often time-limited and focused on basic functionality checks rather than a full diagnostic evaluation of all systems. Many customers report that walkthroughs feel rushed, often lasting only a short period of time after investing significant amounts into their purchase.
It is not uncommon for buyers to later discover issues that were not addressed or fully explained during the delivery process. In some cases, customers feel that concerns identified during internal checks were not clearly communicated or prioritized before the unit was handed over. This can lead to unexpected repair costs and frustration shortly after purchase.
This is where independent inspections play a critical role. Unlike dealership-driven processes, our inspections are performed with the sole purpose of protecting the buyer’s interests. We do not represent manufacturers or sales departments — we represent the customer and the long-term condition of the RV.
Below are real customer experiences reflecting common concerns found during RV purchasing and delivery processes:
"We were told everything had been checked and the RV was ready to go, but within days we started finding issues that were never mentioned during delivery."
— Mark T., Tampa, FL
"The dealership rushed us through the walkthrough after a long wait. It felt like the focus was more on completing the sale than explaining the RV properly."
— Jason R., Orlando, FL
"We paid for a PDI package through the dealer, but later discovered several systems were never fully tested before pickup."
— Angela M., Jacksonville, FL
"If we had known what was actually wrong beforehand, we would have brought in an independent inspection. It would have saved us thousands."
— Robert L., Sarasota, FL
Open Horizons RV exists to bridge this gap by providing a detailed, unbiased inspection process that focuses entirely on accuracy, transparency, and protecting the buyer’s investment before issues become costly surprises.
Customers choose Open Horizons RV before finalizing a purchase to ensure they fully understand the condition of the unit—whether buying from a dealership or private party.
Below are real-world style customer experiences showing how independent inspections helped identify important issues before purchase completion:
"We had already selected the RV at a dealership and were told everything had been gone through. Open Horizons RV inspected it before we signed anything and found multiple maintenance issues that were never discussed during the sale process. It gave us leverage to have everything corrected before moving forward."
— Michael R., Lakeland, FL
"We were ready to complete paperwork, but decided to have an independent inspection first. Several systems that were supposed to be ‘ready for delivery’ were not operating correctly. The inspection gave us confidence to delay closing until everything was fixed properly."
— Jessica L., Orlando, FL
"Even though the RV was brand new, we wanted a second opinion before accepting delivery. The inspection revealed installation issues that had been missed during the dealer’s preparation process. It saved us from taking ownership of a unit that wasn’t truly ready."
— Daniel K., Wildwood, FL
"The inspection results gave us documentation that helped renegotiate the price and required repairs before purchase. Without it, we would have absorbed the cost ourselves after signing."
— Amanda S., Ocala, FL
"We were buying from a private seller who assured us the RV was in great condition. The inspection revealed multiple hidden issues across electrical, plumbing, and roof systems. It completely changed our decision and prevented us from buying a unit that would have been extremely costly to repair."
— Tina T., Fort Myers, FL
These inspections are designed to protect buyers before they commit.
